Irwindale, CA: On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at about 4:05 A.M., Irwindale Police Department officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to Arrow Highway, west of 4th Street, in the city of Irwindale, regarding the report of an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle.
On arrival, our officers discovered that a gold 2004 Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Arrow Highway, west of 4th Street, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian in the #2 lane of Arrow Highway. The driver remained at the scene and called 9-1-1.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and pronounced the pedestrian, a male adult, deceased at the scene. There were no other parties or vehicles involved in the traffic collision.
The westbound lanes of Arrow Highway between Irwindale Avenue and Azusa Canyon Road were closed for approximately 7 hours during the traffic collision investigation. Officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department and the California Highway Patrol assisted with the street closures and the investigation.
The identity of the deceased male is not being released at this time, pending notification of his next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
The cause of this traffic collision remains under investigation and it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
