IRWINDALE FINANCE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES EXCELLENCE AWARD
(Irwindale, CA, January 19, 2023) – The City of Irwindale was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report ended June 30, 2021. The City of Irwindale is committed to providing easily accessible information for an engaged and informed community. This is the 12th consecutive year the City has received this prestigious award.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized ACFR. This report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the program’s high standards and must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story.
