[ARCHIVED] El Nino Tips from Los Angeles County and the Irwindale Police Department


Meteorologists expect a strong El Nino event to hit Southern California this winter, bringing heavy rains to the region. Heavy rainfall can result in heavier than normal runoff, causing regional and large-scale flooding.

The Irwindale Police Department urges residents to "Be Prepared and to Stay Informed" about weather related events that can impact your safety. The County of Los Angeles has prepared a pamphlet with tips and useful information to help residents be prepared for strong weather. This information can be reviewed by clicking here.
