TRAFFIC ALERT ~ Caltrans has scheduled a 5-day closure of the westbound 210 (Foothill) Freeway at the San Gabriel River Bridge beginning Wednesday, July 20 at 10:00 PM. This closure is due to a major upgrade project to the freeway bridge over the San Gabriel River in the city of Irwindale.
During this closure, freeway traffic will be diverted from the westbound 210 onto the eastbound 210, which will be converted to three-lanes in both directions between the 605 (San Gabriel) Freeway and Irwindale Avenue.
As part of this project, the following closures will take place beginning Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 PM through Tuesday, July 26, at 4:00 AM:
π§ Westbound 210 from Irwindale Avenue to the 605 Freeway
π§ Westbound 210 Irwindale Avenue on-ramps
π§ Westbound 210 to southbound 605 connector
π§ 605 to eastbound 210 connector
π§ Eastbound 210 Mount Olive on-ramps
Additional detours will divert freeway traffic onto city streets to accommodate the closure of the 210/605 connector. These detours will include the following surface streets:
π§ Arrow Highway between Live Oak Avenue and Citrus Avenue
π§ Live Oak Avenue between Arrow Highway and the 605 Freeway
π§ Los Angeles Street between the 605 Freeway and Baldwin Park Blvd.
π§ Ramona Blvd. between the 605 Freeway and Baldwin Park Blvd.
π§ Rivergrade Road between Live Oak Avenue and Lower Azusa Road
π§ Baldwin Park Blvd. between Ramona Blvd. and Live Oak Avenue
π§ Irwindale Avenue between Arrow Highway and the 210 Freeway
π§ Azusa Avenue between Arrow Highway and the 210 Freeway
π§ Citrus Avenue between Arrow Highway and the 210 Freeway
The Irwindale Police Department and Caltrans advise motorists to expect major delays on all of the listed freeways and surface streets during this time period. Please also consider the use public transportation such as the Metro L Line (Gold) or the Metrolink during this closure.
