Patrol Bureau

Duties

Ford Police VehicleThe Patrol Bureau is largest and most visible component of the police department. Patrol officers conduct preventative patrol measures and respond to a wide variety of service requests.

The primary functions of the patrol officers are to protect life and property, arrest law-breakers, and to ensure that equal justice is carried out. Community safety is enhanced by patrol officers when they enforce state and local traffic laws, and provide traffic safety and crime prevention public presentations

In addition, patrol officers provide everyday assistance to the community, such as helping stranded motorists, providing information, and serving as role models for our community, especially our youth. The Patrol Bureau has a unique opportunity to not only keep our City safe, but to act as a humanitarian representative of our local government and to personalize as much as possible the service or assistance to be delivered.
